# What is Medicaid?

Medicaid is a health coverage program for Utah residents with limited income, people with disabilities, seniors, and children who need medical support. You can apply any time of the year.

## How to apply to medicaid:

### Step 1: Create a Utah ID

Click the medicaid application button below, and create a UT ID account if you do not already have one.

[Medicaid Application](https://jobs.utah.gov/mycase-app/ui/)

### Step 2: Medicaid Application

Fill out the Medicaid application (it takes about 20–30 minutes).

[Click here for Medicaid application help](https://calendly.com/office-crejllc/30min)

### Step 3: Documentation

# Helpful Tips

- Apply for Medicaid and your waiver at the same time. The sooner you’re Medicaid-eligible, the sooner you can be added to a waiver list.
- Keep everything documented — doctor notes, therapy records, IEPs, or hospital discharge summaries.
- Don’t miss waitlist updates. DSPD and Aging programs require annual check-ins — missing one can delay your spot.
- Need help? You can work with a case manager or support coordinator to help with paperwork, planning, and service setup. Reach out to us at 801-508-4133 for assistance.
